ETNOMIR - Russia

ETNOMIR is an ethnographic park-museum with developed tourist and cultural-educational sectors. Over the years of existence ETNOMIR park has hosted millions of private visitors and representatives of various companies worlwide.

ETNOMIR is located on the border of the Kaluga region, 90 km from Moscow. This region is one of the most successfully developing regions of the Central Federal District. Two federal highways reach ETNOMIR park: The Minsk and Kiev highways. It is also accessible by private transport or by taking a bus tour with a direct connection: Moscow - ETNOMIR.

A day spent in the park gives a lot of impressions. A nature oriented vacation is entertaining and informative. There are eleven ethnically styled hotels in the ETNOMIR park thus enabling visitors the opportunity to explore the atmosphere and learn more about different countries and continents. A visitor could become a real traveler and explore the globe in a day by spending time in authentic interiors of India and Nepal, Asian countries, Slavic huts and Siberian yurts.

Annually a great number of mass events are held in ETNOMIR, all festivals are timed to major calendar holidays. Programs and events for Pancake week, New Year and Christmas are very popular and attract a lot of visitors. A rich schedule of festivals and events held in the park provides an opportunity for experiencing global celebrations: For example: Chinese New Year, Theater Festival, "Era of the USSR" festival, Ice Cream Festival, Gastronomic Fair, Technofest and many others. The holidays in ETNOMIR are full of events: concerts, theatrical processions, games and competitions and in the evening - fireworks and fire shows and more.

Primarily ETNOMIR is a cultural and educational center. In the ethnographic park, visitors will learn about culture, traditions, customs of peoples of different countries.

The Street of the World is an exhibition complex with 15 pavilions and total length of 1.5 kilometers. Each of the pavilions reflects the culture and traditions of different regions of the world: ancient Europe, mysterious East and original Asia, hot Africa, sunny Australia and Oceania and, of course, the New World - North and Latin America. Excursions are organized in each of the houses on the Street of the World. During the master classes, guests create their own national talismans by their own hands, decorate objects in traditional techniques, weave, work behind a potter's wheel, bake bread, make original jewelry, toys, and learn crafts.

On the territory of the park there are many sculptural compositions to public figures who made a significant contribution to the development of science, education and culture. The exhibition "Great teachers of humanity" includes sculptural portraits of great representatives of different countries; it is a joint project of ETNOMIR and the International Charity Public Fund "Dialogue of Cultures - United World" in popularization of humanistic values and outstanding persons.
